Would you believe the year is going to end in less than a week, Its the season to be Merry. Eat , drink , party with family and friends but its also the time of the year when we say where did this year go collectively.
While some are reflecting back on the year, some are planning blingy outfits for a New Years party at a club, some are deep into journaling around this time , the lucky ones set off on a vacation , the not so lucky ones are stuck in traffic or in chasing quarter end/year end targets and then there is us another species all together who are loving the times because we can decorate to our hearts content. Yes we can officially buy more Baubles & Christmas Ornaments this season or dig out that big box stashed away for an entire year.
But India is just catching up with the Christmas Decor influenza all thanks to Pinterest & Instagram and many homes don’t always have a Tree or sometimes the space for a proper Christmas tree even. So how do you and what do you do with pretty looking baubles that you just bought because ‘ Oh they were so adorable ‘
Let me show you some simple ways you can use them other than off course hang them pretty on the Tree.
Stack them into a Jar
If you like vertical arrangements consider stacking them in a Mason or Cookie Jar. This could sit on your dining table or Kitchen counter top bringing in some Christmas cheer. Looks pretty spectacular and literally takes nothing accept for an empty Mason Jar from the pantry . You see I don’t do difficult levels any which way.

Pop them in a Nice Bowl
Yes got a few extra Baubles or Pine cones from the mountains. Just put them into your favourite bowl, wooden , metal , ceramic anything & everything works. Have no bowl use your Colander or even a nice baking dish works. If you browse through Pinterest often like me you would notice traditional wooden dough bowls filled with Christmas ornaments but we don’t find those easily in India so use what you have and it will look equally amazing. You could also add some greens to it or leave it as it is.

Make a Coffee Table Centerpiece
This is a lovely way to add Christmas cheer and oodles of warmth to your Coffee Table in the living area where your family and friends would congregate. Pull out a tray, a chopping board or a wide deep bowl, add a candle or two in the centre and add ornaments , pine cones and greenery around it. My ornaments are vintage mercury glass and under the warm light of the candle they sparkle oh so pretty. I love it !

Use them for your Christmas Tablescape
Are you planning to host your family and friends this season. Even if you ain’t make a special Christmas sit out dinner just for the family or just for yourself if you live alone. Dress up your Table , Light candles and enjoy good food and wine in the company of those who matter. I have simply layered some glass baubles & ornaments atop a runner and some greens like Eucalyptus & Pine , Pine cones , Pomegranates, lots of Candles and Mercury Glass ornaments that I bought on Amazon. Find Them Here.

*Pro Tip : I bought ornaments in 3 different sizes but the same colours Silver & Gold. That adds to the depth also keeping the uniformity.

Tuck them Under a Cloche
Another fun way to decorate with Baubles or Christmas Ornaments is by using a Cloche to cover them. It looks lovely on a stack of books specially if you are into Farmhouse & Country style decor. This could be a pretty Vignette in any corner of the Home , The coffee table, atop your chest or even the night stand.

Make a Quick DIY Garland
If you find mini ornaments like these a Garland is a great idea. Mine are from Indian Shelf. You could layer the garland to your Mantel Decor , over a Mirror or string it around your Tree even. Garlands & Wreaths look great even on Kitchen Cabinets. We don’t have a mantle here in this tropical weather but my chest is what does the job of a Mantle for now. I hung the garland atop the Mirror & I think it looks very pretty. What do you think.

Here you go some fun & pretty ways to use Baubles & Christmas Ornaments without really owning a Tree. I am off to making supper now & thinking yet again ” Where did the Year Go ”
