Hellooooo guys a very good morning to you all, It’s Christmas morning today , yet again I am much behind the schedule in putting up this blog. But I believe it’s better late than never so I will still go ahead, if not this year it shall help someone next year or the year after or may even after.
Now you see Easy is one of the most searched words on Google. Both easy & simple rank really high on SEO not that I know SEO like an expert here or care much but I know everything has to be easy here on this blog otherwise there is no point. Its a word that defines a bit of my personality, I am an easy going person. I like simple things that don’t take much effort and fizzle out the enthusiasm of a slow person like me. And be it food , my clothes an exercise regime or Decor and Design the core has to always be something simple and doable for me.
No more gyaan there, the point I was trying to make was I cannot do or handle much complexity in life in general. And my Aesthetics & Decor say much the same. Clean lines , basic stuff that can induce joy and enjoyment. I am happy not inventing aeroplanes in this lifetime.
So presenting to you my Easy & Simple Christmas Decor ideas from the Home this year that was 2022. Dive straight in !
A simple Christmas Tree
Now I have been gravitating towards the idea of a Bare Christmas tree all of this season may be with no lights , just lights or few ornaments as simple as glass baubles. So for almost the whole of December I had a Tree with just a string of lights attached and I kinda loved it. I took out my ornaments at the very last week and added just because I had to put them to use and get rid of the guilt. On my other Tree which is a tiny cutie I just hung some dried citrus and that was about it. I have to say this very simple tree is my favourite from all seasons and you may see this on repeat even in the coming seasons.
Plaids And Checks
This is a given and the easiest way to add Christmas & winter cheer in your Home. Switching the florals to some Plaids , Tartans, Checks and Stripes in the Quintessential Christmas pallet just needs little or no effort. If you don’t have these look up your old scarfs, stoles like this old Red wooden stole of mine. You can also go with deep garnets & greens in luxe fabrics like velvet if checks & stripes is not your jam.
Bring in The Ferns & Winter Greens
One of my philosophy for life is not associate everything with buying and acquiring in order to have it a certain way. No Christmas Tree no problem no Baubles no problem either. Get your Ferns inside and that can work wonders. If you would like to add a little Christmas touch put them into a nice rattan or Jute basket, may be a canvas grocery bag if you have none or a regular ceramic planter and tie a ribbon around it and you are done. I bet it takes less than a few minutes and barely costs a thing.
Creating Vignettes with Baubles & Pine Cones
We all collect pine cones on our Mountain vacations don’t we. Now is the perfect time to create cozy and earthen corners with them that induce all things winter. Create easy and simple Vignettes around the corners of your Home to ring in those cozy vibes. Use Table tops , Chest of Drawers , Nightstands , Kitchen counters just about anything available at your disposal. I have one whole blog dedicated to this and you can pick a clue or two. A very Minimal Christmas Wreath
I love wreaths and I have been doing them year after year. From fresh greens to Faux ones there is plenty of ideas and ways to use them. And you don’t need much. A wreath base is easily available in the markets or you can DIY one quite effortlessly from an old hanger , some twigs or even old faux flowers stem. Take a clue from some of these wreaths I have done over the years.
Lighting Earthy Scents
Do I really need to say this. Christmas or winter is incomplete without the glow and the scent of a few luminaries. Choose your favourite earthen scents some of mine are Sage, Pine , Bergamot, Cedarwood or go for the sweet scents of Vanilla Beans if that’s more you. Nothing sings winter like a cluster of candles with dancing flames.
So here’s how we do it here. I hope you have a Merry Christmas & a very Happy New Years. Joy to all.
