Another late blog post but Hey December you were incredibly busy. I had so many ideas for Christmas but amongst tons of things going on I could only begin acting upon a few in the last week itself. Infact a few things I ordered still haven’t arrived and you’ll probably only see them next year now. Anyways here’s a quick recap of what all I could gather and do eventually, most things though quite last minute turned out way better and a notch above how I actually imagined them to be.
Christmas Bedroom Spruce-Up
The first thing I did was to bring in some winter Greens. The ferns and all you see. I then made a simple wreath with a few branches of the cypress greens and a bow made out of leftover fabric. And I think it looked really cute. I recommend getting a wreath base so you can always quickly change the Decor around seasons without spending on artificial wreaths and a bunch of things every season. Or even DIY a wreath base from twigs yourself.

The next thing I did was adding a big branch of winter greens to my Galvanised French country rustic Pitcher. So simple and so stunning this looks, check for yourself below . It remains fresh even now after a week & I think it might just take root in there. Voila my favourite seasonal decor hack. Nothing beats fresh sprays and greens for me.

Last we changed around the bedding with some whites, plaids and some stripes. Understated and clean yet cozy. I would have loved a few Christmassy cushions honestly but I am on a no more cushion mission since November so held back there but I think my existing striped lumbar kind off worked too. What do you think.

Living Room
My couch is a forest green velvet upholstered one so simply adding whites work or so I presume.
And we don’t have a mantle so I dressed up the big Chest of drawers instead with a Mirror we have in the living Area. Decorated it with a very last minute impromptu DIY made out of foam board.
An entire Christmas Village made out of foam board costing less than a couple of dollars isn’t that amazing. It took half a day but was so worth and so magical once we lit some LED candles inside. This is how I made it – DIY Christmas Village – Step by Step Process

Birch Tree with handmade Paper Ornaments
This one received a lot of love and saves on Instagram. And trust me, it is the easiest thing to put together on a slow winter morning. Just go for a walk collect a few dry branches preferably with lots of twigs attached and an interesting shape so you can hang some ornaments.
Now secure these branches into a Basket or a Vase or any container you prefer with may be some sand or pebbles so they stay upright. We quickly made some vintage paper angels in less than 20 minutes and hung them onto these branches. You could even wrap a string of LED lights , add vintage baubles , dried oranges , ribbons literally anything you fancy to create this nordic birch tree to decorate and deck up the space for Christmas.

Dining Area
After moving my scanty IKEA tree in all corners of the Home I settled for it here eventually. Its a pretty corner that’s visible from most parts of the house. Kept the tablescape pretty simple with a white linen tablecloth and some classic red & white striped napkins , brought in one of my favourite ferns inside & a few oranges in a bowl always does the trick for me. I love Chalkboards and its no secret now, a little Christmas chalkboard art refresh had to go up there too.

Kitchen
Frankly with zero time and energy left I almost gave up on the Kitchen and only added some last minute touches on the morning of 24th itself. Set up a beverage station with Plaid mugs, Coffee , Hot Chocolate an Upcycled wreath and also got in the Asparagus fern for a day or two. It looks pretty darn good and exudes lots of cozy Christmas vibes I think. A few garlands were on my mind but I just couldn’t get around to do them this year. Anyway here’s how my kitchen looked on a cold winter morning. COZY & INVITING !

If I look back even though it seemed daunting and as if I missed the bus it all came together at the end, it always does isn’t it, some things were really basic and simple like bringing the winter greens & ferns inside but yet so impactful in adding that holiday cheer around.
I hope you could pick up some ideas here for your home.
And I hope you had a Merry and Joyous Christmas with your famjam.
xoxo
